KS4 Science

We are currently Running the following courses:

Year 10 – Edexcel GCSE Core Science: Consists of 3 taught modules Biology 1, Chemistry 1, Physics 1, and a controlled assessment. Each section is equally weighted at 25% each.

Year 11 – BTEC Principles of applied Science: Consists of the four units identified below, which are all assessed via course work; students also sit one exam.

  • Unit 1 – Principles of Science Exam.
  • Unit 2 – Chemistry and our Earth.
  • Unit 3 – Energy and our universe.
  • Unit 4 – Biology and the environment.

BTEC Application of applied Science: Consists of the four units identified below, which are all assessed via course work; students also sit one exam.

  • Unit 5 – Application of Chemical Substances.
  • Unit 6 – Application of Physical Science.
  • Unit 7 – Health applications of Life Science
  • Unit 8 – scientific Skills Exam.
