The aims of the History department at Stanchester Academy are: 

To equip our students with the historical skills, knowledge and understanding so that they will not only become excellent young historians who achieve impressive GCSE outcomes but also to inspire a passion for the subject which will motivate them to pursue this academic discipline into Further and Higher Education. 

To enable our young people to be able to develop their sense of identity and heritage as both national and global citizens and to develop the skills, understanding and empathy needed to show tolerance, value and respect to the heritage and histories of others.
